Blog post of the day:
The following article was in the September issue of The Tiger Print. Read the article (even if you already have) and respond to it below. What do you think? Do you agree? Disagree? Consider all perspectives of the article while you respond.
I read this article earlier last week, when I first got the newspaper, and my friend and I finished reading it at the same time. She and I both looked at each other, and we smiled. I told her that I was glad that an article like this finally came out, and she couldn't agree more.
I really am happy that someone wrote this, because I agree. I especially agree about the part where she mentioned that not everyone's thumbs go down to the same length, so some people can't wear what other people can. I was also blessed with the (unfortunately) long, lanky, arms. The sad thing is, I have a skirt at home that I was so excited to wear to school, and I had even picked out a few tops from the store that went with the skirt. On the first day, I put it on, and went downstairs. My mom told me that it looked adorable, but that the school did have a thumb rule, and that I should check where my thumbs went. I checked, ans sure enough, they went past the end of the skirt.
The thing is, the skirt wasn't too short. I had worn it to my Grandpa's birthday dinner, for Pete's sake! I have yet to wear that skirt to school, opting out of skirts all together. I just feel like it would be too much of a hassle to repeatedly show where my thumbs went to any teacher that happened to walk by. But as I said before, the skirt wasn't too short! None of my skirts are too short!
I am not the kind of person who wears really tight or revealing clothes, and I don't wear anything for attention. I wear things because I like them.
