Blog Post of the Day:
Tell me about your weekend. Share pics!

This weekend I went to my cousin's wedding, in Oklahoma City. I wasn't at school on Friday because I had to go to the rehearsal dinner, which was Friday night.

Then on Saturday, my brothers went to the OU vs. K-State game, and loved it. When I went to go pick them up, I could tell that OU had lost, because all the fans streaming out of the stadium were not happy.

We went back to the hotel, and we were going to take a nap, but then my mom noticed that the wedding started at 6:00pm, not 7:00pm.

After the wedding, which was kind of weird, we went to the hotel, went to sleep, and woke up really early yesterday morning so that we could get home on time.
And that was my weekend!

Blog Post of the Day:
Below is a letter written to the editor who wrote the article 'Enforcement of dress code creates negative effect' that your blogged about last week. Most of you wrote on your blog that you agreed with the writer. What are your thoughts after reading the letter below and seeing a different perspective. Are they the same? Are the different? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.

This is going to sound like I just go along with everything I hear (as I hear it), but really, I do agree with this letter on some levels. I believe that everyone should be able to wear whatever they want, but I also know that when a lot of these kids grow up, they will be held to much higher standards than they are right now.

I know that a woman who works with my dad doesn't like the restrictions she's expected to adhere by. She complimented my dress one day, and then said that she wished she could wear something like that. I was 10, so I asked her why she couldn't wear something like my dress. She explained to me that at the office, she was asked to wear business clothes, and have a sense of professionalism about her clothing.

So, as I said before, I believe that everyone is entitled to wear whatever they want to wear, but maybe not all the time.

Blog Post of the Day:

I don't know if I can list out any specific classes that I would take, but I can tell you what classes I'm taking now that I wouldn't be in. Does that make sense?

I know I wouldn't be taking Geometry or Algebra 2. I would try to take AP Statistics, because that looks kind of interesting. I would stay in Biology, but I wouldn't be taking Physics or Chemistry, focusing instead on Earth and Space Science, because that looks really interesting.

I would probably stay in Web Design, because I really like computers, but I would also try to take some sort of Computer Science class as well, because that's what I'm interested in. I also looked at the CAPS courses, and Technology is something I am going to take.

So, a rough outline of all the classes that I would take (if I could take any) would be Web Design, Biology, Earth and Space Science, CAPS technology, and some sort of Computer Science class.

Blog post of the day:
The following article was in the September issue of The Tiger Print. Read the article (even if you already have) and respond to it below. What do you think? Do you agree? Disagree? Consider all perspectives of the article while you respond.

I read this article earlier last week, when I first got the newspaper, and my friend and I finished reading it at the same time. She and I both looked at each other, and we smiled. I told her that I was glad that an article like this finally came out, and she couldn't agree more.

I really am happy that someone wrote this, because I agree. I especially agree about the part where she mentioned that not everyone's thumbs go down to the same length, so some people can't wear what other people can. I was also blessed with the (unfortunately) long, lanky, arms. The sad thing is, I have a skirt at home that I was so excited to wear to school, and I had even picked out a few tops from the store that went with the skirt. On the first day, I put it on, and went downstairs. My mom told me that it looked adorable, but that the school did have a thumb rule, and that I should check where my thumbs went. I checked, ans sure enough, they went past the end of the skirt.

The thing is, the skirt wasn't too short. I had worn it to my Grandpa's birthday dinner, for Pete's sake! I have yet to wear that skirt to school, opting out of skirts all together. I just feel like it would be too much of a hassle to repeatedly show where my thumbs went to any teacher that happened to walk by. But as I said before, the skirt wasn't too short! None of my skirts are too short!

I am not the kind of person who wears really tight or revealing clothes, and I don't wear anything for attention. I wear things because I like them.

Blog post of the day:
Tell me about your weekend! If you don't have anything fun to share, tell me about the city you live in. What do you love about Kansas City? Do you have a favorite place in the city? Favorite team? :) Favorite event? Explain.

This weekend, or, well, Thursday of last week, I got my wisdom teeth out. That was probably the biggest event that happened this weekend, because the rest of my four day weekend was spent in recovery. So, this weekend, the main thing I did was sleep, and second to that I watched a ton of new TV shows.

Also this weekend, my friend celebrated her birthday, and we went to see the new movie, The Maze Runner. I went with Lexi, Julie, and Lily, it being Lily's birthday. Lexi and I sat together in the row above Julie and Lily, because we had similar feelings about the movie. Almost 80% of the time, Lexi and I were huddled together with out ears plugged and our eyes closed, trying to block out the intensity of the monster fights going on on the big screen.

All in all, my weekend wasn't a total bust, because it was two days longer than everyone else's, but it also felt like it was way too short.
